MiB 2022 Beautification Contest Winners!

The nominations were made, the judges judged, and the winners have been awarded their prize!

Thank you to all who participated in this years MiB Beautification Contest! It was such a lovely treat to visit various yards and be welcomed into such beautiful outdoor spaces. It was very clear to our judges that many Milletonians take great pride in making their yard spaces an enjoyable place.

This year's winners are;


Best Business

Circuit Cycle
Best Business was awarded Circuit Cycle & Sport for creating a warm and welcoming appearance that is lovely to see when driving down hwy 2a.




Best Backyard

David and Marie Fray
Best Backyard was awarded to David & Marie Fray for their strategic use of annuals within the perennial beds that have an abundance of colours, textures, shapes, sizes, and unique varieties. Their whole space holds an artistic flare with a very thoughtfully planned layout that guides you through the garden.




Best Front Yard

Tracey Torgeson
Best Front Yard was awarded to Tracey Torgeson for her fun and interesting garden including, annuals, perennials, and neat decor. A very welcoming view from the street.




Best Mobile Residence

Al and Joan Needham
Best Mobile Residence was awarded to Joan & Al Needham for creating a cheery and bright front yard space full of colourful flowers.




Best Feature

Andrew Callander and Amy Lint
Best Feature was awarded to Andrew Callander & Amy Lint for their unique structures including deck, gazebo, water wall, bar, pond, and pool. The cohesiveness between their wooden structures add a nice element of design to their backyard space.




Best Overall

Jocelyne Young
Best Overall (front and back yard) was awarded to Jocelyne Young for the beautiful aesthetic throughout her whole yard. Jocelyne has incorporated heritage plants, some more than 50 years old!




Best Vegetable Garden

Vanessa Travnik
Best Vegetable Garden was awarded to Vanessa Travnik for her beautiful raised garden beds. Through her use of rain barrels, succession planting, weeding, and mulch pathways, Vanessa has created a very productive environmentally-friendly vegetable garden.




Honorable Mention

The Old Bank Cafe
Honorable Mention was awarded to The Old Bank Cafe for their abundance of planters filling their outside patio with colour and texture. A nice place to sit, eat, and enjoy the outdoors.
