"Introduction to Edible Landscaping"

Rob Spencer, Owner of Spencer Horticultural Solutions, will provide advice on incorporating edibles into community projects. Edible landscaping is the use of food plants as design features in a landscape. These plants are used both for aesthetic value as well as consumption. Your CiB Committee will learn about examples of projects done in other locations, factors to consider when planning and maintaining edible projects. Register here!

How is your community “Blooming Where You’re Planted"? Send three photos and a description of 250 - 500 words telling us what your CiB Committee is doing to contribute to and love the community you decided to live in. Enter to win $300 cash towards a community project. Email your entry to CiB Alberta Provincial Coordinator at ksnethun@arpaonline.ca by Aug. 14.


"Giving Gardener" Contest

Nominate the Giving Gardener in your community. This person gives of their time, their gardening skills, and encourages others to bloom where they’re planted. They are a gift to your community. The nominated winner will receive a Scott's Gift Bag (valued at $125). Send a photo and a description of 250 - 500 words telling us what you admire in your Giving Gardener. Email your entry to CiB Alberta Provincial Coordinator at ksnethun@arpaonline.ca by Aug. 14.


FortisAlberta's "Blooming Video Tour" Contest

Share your CiB projects! Make a short video touring us around your community (iPhone videos accepted). All entered videos will be featured on the CiB Alberta website and linked in the CiB Alberta newsletter. Enter to win $300 cash towards a community project. Email your video entry to the CiB Alberta Provincial Coordinator at ksnethun@arpaonline.ca by Aug. 14. All entries will be evaluated by the FortisAlberta Communications Team.

CiB Kids Garden Art Contest (for 5-12-year olds)

Attention young people! Share your artwork showing what you are doing to help your community bloom! Draw your garden, the hanging baskets, some flowers, a special project in town or anything else with a gardening theme. Get excited about the power of flowers and community. The winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card. The deadline for submission is Aug. 14. Email your entry to the CiB Alberta Provincial Coordinator at ksnethun@arpaonline.ca.
